The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) is held in April every year. The eligible students can get admission in classes VI, IX and XI. There are a total of 76 JNVs in Uttar Pradesh, and you can get admission by qualifying JNVST exam.
The JNV medium of instruction is mother tongue/regional language up to class VII or VIII. After this, the JNV’s medium of instruction will be Hindi/English.
JNV Fee Structure
Navodaya Vidyalayas are affiliated with CBSE and provide free education from classes VI to XII. It is a co-educational residential school that provides free boarding and accommodation, free uniforms, textbooks, stationery and rail and bus fare to the students.
However, a nominal fee of Rs.600/- per month is charged from the students of classes IX to XII as Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi. But, SC/ST category students from below poverty line families are free from the fees. But, students whose parents are government are charged Rs 1500/- per month.
