SBI PO Registration 2022, Exam Dates, Eligibility, Exam Pattern

SBI PO Registration 2022: State Bank of India has released the notification for the appointment as Probationary Officer (PO) all over India in 2022. So, eligible candidates can apply online for the post of Probationary Officer till 25 October 2021. Online Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will be conducted in November/December 2021, and Main Examination (Phase-II) will be conducted in December/January 2021-22. Qualified candidates of Phase-I and Phase-II will be called for Interview (Phase-III). Today in this article, we will share SBI PO registration, exam date, eligibility, exam pattern etc.

SBI PO exam will be completed through a three-tier process, Phase-I, Phase-II and Phase-III. Candidates shortlisted in Phase-I will have to appear for Phase-II, and subsequently, successful candidates of Phase-II will be called for Phase-III. Thus, candidates successful in all stages of the examination can be posted anywhere in India.

SBI PO Online Registration

Interested candidates who want to join the State Bank of India as Probationary Officer should apply online by visiting the official website. Applicants have to follow the prescribed norms regarding the online registration process. Following are the steps required to complete the online registration for the SBI Probationary Officer.

Step1: Visit the official website of SBI.

Step2: Click on the ‘apply now‘ option on the home page. On the next page, click on the ‘new registration‘ option.

Step3: On the next page, fill the form and complete the registration process by entering contact details, age, gender, address, mail id etc.

Step4: You will get the registration number and password on the next page. Upload the recent photograph and signature in the described format. Click on the ‘Next’ option.

Step5: Select your category (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) and ID proof. Enter ID number, current address and permanent address. Click on save and next option.

Step6: Here, select your academic details and known languages. Click on the ‘Save and Next‘ option. The next page will appear.

Step7: Preview the details and confirm. Click on the complete registration option.

Step8: Now, you have to upload your left thumb impression and handwritten declaration. Enter the security code and click on the ‘Save and Next’ option.

Step9: The next page will appear, pay the application fee through debit card, credit card or net banking. Click on submit and take a print for future reference.

Candidates can only register online for the recruitment process, which will be conducted in three phases. (i) Phase-I; (ii) Phase-II; and (iii) Phase-III. Shortlisted candidates after Phase-I will have to appear for Phase-II. Candidates shortlisted after Phase-II will be called for Phase-III later. SBI PO tentative schedule is as follows:

Application Fee will be 750/- for General/ EWS/ OBC categories and ‘Nil’ for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates.

SBI PO Eligibility Criteria

Following are the eligibility criteria for SBI Probationary Officer.

  • Nationality: Citizen of India
  • Education: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. The final year/semester of their graduation can also apply. They have to prove that they have passed the graduation examination on or before 31.12.2021.
  • Age Limit: Age must be between 21 to 30 years as of 01.04.2021, i.e. candidates must have been born not later than 01.04.2000 and not earlier than 02.04.1991. Relaxation in the Upper age limit shall be as below.

SBI PO Exam Pattern 2022

SBI Probationary Officer exam will be done through a three-tier process. Phase-I will be followed by Phase-II, and shortlisted candidates will subsequently be called for Phase-III. The SBI PO exam pattern is as follows.

SBI PO Main Examination: Phase-II

The main examination will be conducted online and consist of objective type questions for 200 marks and a descriptive test for 50 marks. The descriptive test will be administered immediately after the conclusion of the objective test, and candidates will have to type their descriptive test answers on the computer.

Negative Marking: There (Phase-I & Phase-II) will be a negative mark for a wrong answer. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Descriptive Test:

The duration of the descriptive test is 30 minutes. It is an English language test, i.e. letter writing and essay, with two questions for 50 marks.

SBI PO Selection Process 2022

Preliminary Examination Selection Process: Category wise merit list will be prepared based on total marks obtained in the preliminary examination, and there will be no sectional cut-off. Candidates with ten times (approximately) vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for Main Examination from the top of the above merit list.

Candidates have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately. In the Main Examination (Phase-II), the marks obtained in both the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test will be added to the marks obtained in Phase-III to prepare the final merit list. Marks obtained in Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added to prepare the final merit list for selection.

Main Examination Selection Process: Category wise merit list will be prepared on the basis of
total marks obtained in Phase-II (Main Examination). There will be no sectional cut-off. Candidates having numbers up to 3 times (approximately) of the category-wise vacancies will be shortlisted for Phase-III from the top of the category-wise merit list.

The final merit list is prepared by combining the converted marks of Phase-II and Phase-III. Then, the selection will be made from the candidates with the top qualifying rank in each category.

Interested candidates can apply online for the SBI PO posts through the official website. No other mode of application will be accepted. Applicants should have a valid email ID and mobile number, which should be kept active till the declaration of results. It will be essentially required for receiving any communication/ call letters/ advice from the bank by email/ SMS.

The online application form will be filled correctly without any mistakes, and submit it. Upload the latest photograph and signature in the described format. On the next page, candidates have to pay the examination fee through debit card, credit card or net banking.
