SSC CHSL Application Form 2022 has been released on the official website of the Staff Selection Commission. Interested candidates can apply online for the CHSL exam, and its last date is 7th March 2022. A Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) exam allows 12th pass candidates to apply for various clerical posts. Staff Selection Commission conducts CHSL exam for the recruitment of Lower Division Clerk, Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant, Data Entry Operator and more for various government offices/departments. The CHSL Examination is conducted in two phases, Tier-I and Tier-II.

The application form must be submitted online before the last date through the website of SSC. SSC CHSL 2022 exam fee will be free for women and other SC/ST/PWD candidates.

SSC CHSL 2022 Exam Pattern

The CHSL examination will consist of Computer Based Examination that will be Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III. Qualified candidates of the Tier-I and Tier-II exams will be eligible for the skill test, i.e. Tier-III. The Tier-I exam will consist of objective type, multiple-choice questions only. The question paper will be in English and Hindi.

Negative Marking: There will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

SSC CHSL Tier-II:

The Tier-II question paper will have to be written either in Hindi or English. The question paper will be a descriptive paper of 100 marks in ‘pen and paper mode’. It will consist of writing an essay/letter/application/precis etc, and the minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II will be 33%.

SSC CHSL Tier-III (Skill Test):

Skill test is mandatory for Data Entry Operators. No candidate is exempted from appearing in the skill test. The medium of typing test will be Hindi or English. Candidates have to opt for the medium of Typing Test (i.e. Hindi or English) in the online application form.

The examination fee for the general category will be Rs 100/-. It will be free for women and SC/ST and PWD candidates.

Age Limit:

The age limit for all posts is 18-27 years. Also, there is age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and PWD categories.

SSC CHSL Selection Process

Candidates will be shortlisted for Tier-II Exam based on their performance in the Tier-I Examination. The candidates’ normalised marks will be used to determine their merit and for final selection.

Similarly, candidates will be shortlisted for Tier-III Examination based on their performance in Tier-I + Tier-II subject to a minimum of 33% marks in the Tier-II Examination. Tier-III Examination, i.e. Skill Test/ Typing Test, is qualifying in nature.

Skill Test in Tier-III for DEO is mandatory for all eligible candidates. Therefore, they will be shortlisted for appearing in Document Verification based on their performance in Tier-I + Tier-II subject to qualifying in the skill test as per the qualifying standards prescribed by the Commission.

How To Apply for SSC CHSL?

The application online mode only on the website of SSC, i.e. https://ssc.nic.in. Applicants must complete the one-time registration process to submit the online application form.

  • Complete the registration process with personal details like name, gender, father’s name, mobile number, email id etc.
  • The apply here a link will appear on the home page. Click on the link and fill up the application form.
  • In the online application form, candidates must upload the scanned colour passport size photograph in JPEG format (20 kb to 50 kb).
  • The photograph should not be older than three months from the date of publication of the notice of examination.
  • The photograph should be without cap glasses, and both ears should be visible.
  • Before submitting the online application, candidates must check that they have filled in the correct details in each field of the form.
  • The application fee can be paid online by using BHIM UPI, Net Banking or Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, Rupay Credit or Debit cards or by generating SBI Challan in cash SBI branches.
