WBCS 2023 Application Form

West Bengal Public Service Commission does not yet release the official notification for the WBSC examination 2023. However, the officials of WPPSC will release the details regarding the WBCS Examination for Group A, B, C and D posts on the official website of the commission soon.

The application form will be available on the official website when the notification is released. Here is the step-by-step guide to submitting the online application form, which is as follows.

How To Submit Application Form?

First, visit the official website of WBPSC and click on the link to appear “Apply for WBCS”.

Step 1: Complete the registration process by entering your basic details, like name, contact number, email-id, etc. and then submit it.

Step 2: After submitting the registration form, the system will send you a mail regarding your automatically generated credentials. Again, go to the dashboard and click next for the application process.

Step3: You have to log in with your credentials provided to you via mail.

Step 4: Check the required eligibility criteria from the drop/down list. Fill the application form with the required details correctly. Now click on the confirm option, preview details, and click on the ‘Save & Next‘ option.

Step 5: Upload your recent passport-size photograph and signature in the described format. Choose your preference for the desired services. Click on Save and Proceed.

Step 6: Preview the form before final submission, as no correction will be allowed. Finally, pay the category-wise application fee through a Debit card, Credit card or Net Banking to complete the application process.

Application fee

The application will be Rs 210/-. An offline payment option will be available to pay the application fee. You need to generate an SBI challan for offline payment mode and submit it to the nearest branch.

WBCS 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of the candidate applying for WBCS are as follows.

  • Nationality: Indian Citizen
  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Language: Candidates should have good knowledge of the Bengali language in reading, writing and speaking (not applicable for candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali).
Age Limit:
  • The age limit for Group A and C posts is 21 years to 36 years.
  • For Group B (Police Service) candidates minimum age is 20 years, and the maximum age is 36 years
  • The minimum age for Group D posts is 21 years, while the maximum is 36 years.

As per Government of India norms, there will be a relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for the SC/ST category.

WBCS 2023 Exam Pattern

West Bengal Civil Services is a three-tier examination. For final selection, candidates have to clear the prelims exam, mains exam, and interview. So, the WBCS exam is conducted in three stages, which are as follows.

WBCS Preliminary Exam Pattern

The prelims exam is only one objective type paper and consists of questions from General Studies and Aptitude worth 200 marks. The duration of the prelims exam is 2.5 hours, and the marks obtained from the exam will not be counted in the final result as it is a screening test only. WBCS Main Exam Pattern

All the candidates who qualify for WBCS Preliminary Exam will be eligible for Main Exam. Further merit list is prepared based on main exam marks. The Mains exam will have six compulsory papers and two papers on one optional subject.

Each paper will be 200 marks and will be of 3 hours. The candidate who will qualify in the main exam will be called for an interview. The optional subject paper is only for Group A or B candidates and is not applicable for Group D posts.

WBCS Personality Test

They are personality tests with no specific syllabus or subject for the candidates. Candidates have to show their personalities to the interviewers. It represents many other aspects of the candidates, such as their sharpness, analytical skills, quick understanding, moral obligation, social responsibility, etc. It shows their different characteristics as competitors, human beings, administrators, and examiners in different situations.

WBCS 2023 Result
