How To Set UPI Transaction Limit in Indian Bank?

A Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is one of the most used and secure systems for fund transfers. Even though it is safe, it still, fraudsters manage to deceive users in any way possible. If the fraudster succeeds in defrauding you in any way, then a large amount will disappear from your account. Therefore, it is safe for you to set your Indian bank transaction limit which banks give you the option to do so.

It is used by users for transacting through banking apps besides third-party mobile payment apps. The maximum transaction limit is Rs 100000/- per day. But you can set a certain amount limit through the banking application.

You can do this only through mobile and internet banking and not through other third-party payment apps. So, set your transaction limit (per day) before linking your bank account to third-party payment apps, like PhoenPe, GPay, PayTm, etc.

How To Set UPI Transaction Limit Indian Bank?

There are two ways you can set your transaction limit in Indian Bank in a few steps. You can use either of these two methods, choose the one that feels more comfortable.

  • Mobile Banking
  • Internet Banking

Indian Bank mobile banking is one of the easiest ways where you can set it up. But, through Internet banking, you must activate internet banking, you can do it online or by visiting the branch.

You must have an active user and download the Indian bank mobile app through the play store. Keep your debit card ready in your hand as it requires entering your debit card details.

But, if you are an Internet Banking user then you do not need a debit card, you can enter your User ID and Password.

To set the UPI transaction limit in an Indian bank through mobile banking, first, you must complete the registration process:

Registration method for Mobile Banking and BHIM UPI in Indian Bank

Step 1: Open your Indian Bank mobile app and enter your CIF number which you will get on your bank passbook. Tap on the “Send SMS” option, and select the registered sim card (mobile number), if you have two sims.

Step 2: It will verify, and select “Mobile Banking and BHIM UPI” to register on the next screen. Check the term box and tap on Proceed.

Step 3: You will get three options to activate the mobile application, Internet Banking Credentials (1), ATM/Debit Card (2) and Existing MPIN (3).

Step 4: Select ATM/Debit card option, and enter your debit card details. Tap on Activate. On the next screen, set MPIN and tap on Proceed.

Step 5: Create your new four digits MTPIN (transaction password) and confirm the same. Tap on Submit. Now, your mobile banking registration is completed. Tap on Continue to register for BHIM UPI.

Step 6: Enter your details, like name, date of birth, gender and select a security question, and answer it. Tap on Submit.

On submission, BHIM UPI registration will be completed successfully. Now, manage your UPI transaction limit in the following few steps:

Step 7: Log in with your MPIN and tap on BHIP UPI. Create your UPI ID by linking your Indian Bank. Select the Manage option, and you will find your UPI ID details, like frequency, current limit and expiry date.

Step 8: Tap on edit, and the maximum and current transaction limit will appear. Select the Current limit to update, which will appear as one lakh (Rs 100000/-).

Step 9: Enter the certain amount which you want to set for UPI transactions. Tap on Update. That’s all, it will be updated with a certain amount for UPI transactions in Indian Bank.

Through Internet banking

Visit the official website of the Indian bank (www.netbanking.indianbank.in) and log in with your Internet banking login details. Below are the steps to set the transaction limit in Indian Bank through Internet Banking:

  • Click on Value Added Services
  • Select Debit Card Services in the left column. Next, select Control Card Usage and Limits.
  • Select your account and enter your transaction password. Click on Submit.
  • You will find your account number on the next page. Select your debit card and click on Card Status Enquiry.
  • Here you will find ATM cards, PoS, and Contactless transactions limit. Now, you can set your transaction limit and click on Update.
